True 5G Strengthens Thailand’s Industrial Sector with “5G Smart Factory” Collaboration

On July 29, True 5G advanced Thailand’s industrial transformation by leveraging its intelligent 5G network to co-create the country’s first 5G Smart Factory prototype in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric, a global leader in industrial manufacturing technology, and Lertvilai and Sons Co., Ltd., a leading developer and designer of robotic and automation systems. The partnership integrates manufacturing systems with digital technologies to develop an automated production line solution powered by Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), now ready for deployment in real industrial environments.

The project also opens a testing and demonstration space for smart, unmanned factories at EEC Automation Park, Bangsaen, Chonburi. The site showcases advanced factory connectivity, where machinery and equipment communicate in real time via True 5G’s private network—a secure, high-speed, and stable connection that enables real-time monitoring, data analysis, and full production control. This digital integration enhances factory management efficiency, reduces production costs, and strengthens Thailand’s competitiveness under Industry 4.0, driving sustainable industrial growth through innovation.

Mitsubishi Electric: Advancing Automation and Knowledge Transfer

Mr. Wichian Ngamsukkasemsri, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that the company provides comprehensive automation solutions, including production, distribution, consultation, and training. With over 900 solution partners and 10,000+ implementations worldwide, Mitsubishi Electric has been promoting the “e-F@ctory” concept in Thailand for over five years.

This initiative aims to expand automation knowledge among Thai professionals (Technology Transfer) and promote automation adoption to enhance global competitiveness. In collaboration with the EEC, the company established EEC Automation Park—a hub for innovation and workforce development aligned with the government’s strategy to build high-tech industries. Through partnerships with EEC-HDC, the program focuses on upskilling, reskilling, and integrating educational networks while applying real-world automation solutions. The integration of 5G technology plays a crucial role in driving Thai industries toward full Industry 4.0 transformation.

True 5G: Building Thailand’s 5G Industrial Ecosystem

Mr. Pirun Pairipayarit, Head of the 5G Strategy Committee at True Corporation Plc., emphasized that True 5G operates on seven frequency bands, the most in Thailand, delivering the fastest, widest, and most reliable nationwide network. The company is committed to building a robust 5G ecosystem by partnering with organizations to maximize 5G’s impact on people, businesses, and the nation.

In line with Thailand’s Industry 4.0 and digital economy policies, True 5G collaborated with Mitsubishi Electric and Lertvilai to develop a fully automated 5G Smart Factory model. Using a True 5G private network in the EEC area, the system connects and controls machinery, equipment, and AMRs seamlessly through real-time data transmission. It also supports large-scale IoT connectivity and integrates Augmented Reality (AR) for remote monitoring via smartphones and tablets. The solution includes advanced data analytics to optimize production management and cost efficiency—representing a true fusion of modern manufacturing and digital communication technology.

Lertvilai: 5G Empowering Mobile Robotics

Dr. Prapin Abhinorasaeth, Executive Director of Lertvilai & Sons Co., Ltd., shared that the successful integration of 5G with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) has made robotic systems more intelligent, stable, and agile, capable of navigating obstacles and operating seamlessly.

He noted that 5G’s wireless flexibility makes it ideal for mobile use cases that were previously limited by wired connections—especially in outdoor, high-temperature, or hazardous environments where cabling is costly or impractical. This technology eliminates signal interference issues and enables reliable, safe industrial connectivity.

Dr. Prapin added that Lertvilai is ready to expand from Smart Factory applications toward Smart City experimentation within the EEC area, contributing to Thailand’s technological advancement and national digital transformation.
